To be able to respond optimally to the various needs of the later end products, the roasting system must have the necessary flexibility. In particular, the best possible adjustment of the roasting time and the roasting temperatures play a decisive role here. These requirements are only given by a roasting plant in batch operation.

The roasting system GMRS enables various process steps during a roasting cycle in the roasting machine. First, the roasted product is dried and then develops aroma and color during roasting. Especially during roasting of dark malts, a controlled addition of water, leads to a prolonged Maillard reaction, resulting in a deep color reaction.

The new TET heating system can greatly reduce energy consumption compared to traditional drum roasters. The GMRS roasting system is therefore pioneering in terms of reducing the energy consumption of fossil fuels.

OVERVIEW

Roasting system GMRS

The roasting system GMRS works in batch mode. The batch size is determined in a weighing hopper. The hot air used for energy transfer to the product is evenly distributed over the whole length of the roasting drum. After roasting the product temperature will be efficiently reduced in a cooler.

Energy saving is becoming more and more important. To further optimize the energy requirements of the machine, which is already working very efficiently thanks to hot air recirculation and the TET system, the roaster can be equipped with a burner air preheating (CAPS).

OVERVIEW

Roasting system GMRS

The TET heating system is based on energy transfer through turbulent air flow and the resulting significantly better heat transfer coefficient. Compared to traditional drum roasters, the energy consumption is significantly lower with an even distribution of energy within the roaster.

The focus during the development of the roasting system GMRS was also on a significantly improved maintenance and cleaning option. For example, the rollers with the roller brackets of the roasting drum have been redesigned to enable significantly easier maintenance.

For the roasting system GMRS, particular importance was given to the longevity of the individual machine elements in the environment of grain and malt processing. This picture shows the roaster's inlet socket, which is made entirely of stainless steel and is therefore resistant to corrosion.
