To achieve an optimal roasting aroma, the energy required for roasting must be distributed very evenly to the product.

The OSRS system offers this possibility through a semi fluidization process. During roasting, hot air flows intensively around and through the nut stream or oilseeds. This creates a fluidized environment in which the product is treated very gently on the one hand and highly energy-efficiently and thermally evenly on the other.

The shelf life of the roasted nuts or oilseed products is highly dependent on the roasting process and the energy transfer to the product during roasting.

The ESL technology (Extended Shelf Life) was specially developed to optimize the shelf life of the various types of nuts and oilseeds. The shelf life of the roasted products using the OSRS system is significantly longer than with conventional roasting systems.

The fluidization process of the OSRS system allows extremely flexible handling for products with a wide range of bulk densities. By adjusting the amount of air required for fluidization and roasting, the process conditions can be optimally matched to the product to be roasted.

Product changes can be made quickly and even batch by batch. The system offers optimal residual emptying, so that a product change can take place without any cleaning of the system.

The nut and oilseed roasting plant OSRS works in batch mode. Due to the fluidization in the roasting room, flexibility is given to roast different nuts and oilseeds. Heating is realized either with an oven with an industrial burner or an air-steam heat exchanger. The exhaust air is cleaned using cyclones or filters.

The ESL technology of the OSRS system is based on two-stage roasting of the nuts or oilseeds. In the first stage of roasting, the cell structure is stabilized, while the actual roasted aroma is perfected in the second stage.
